Maybe try recompiling? It looks like (i think) it was compiled with a different version of libjpeg than you have.

Is libjpeg8-dev installed?
If it is, try deleting CMakeCache.txt and re-running cmake.

readme.txt:
Install dependencies. Here's an example for Debian/Ubuntu:
$ apt-get install build-essential libirrlicht-dev cmake libbz2-dev libpng12-dev
libjpeg8-dev libxxf86vm-dev libgl1-mesa-dev libsqlite3-dev libogg-dev libvorbis-dev libopenal-dev
Is a typo causing the problems?

Package libjpeg8-dev is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
E: Package libjpeg8-dev has no installation candidate
i get this

Any jpeg dev results from your package manager? I have not used Bodhi, but there have been times that a package I search for using Synaptic will result in a package with a different name, but still containing the relevant library.

Try the libjpeg62-dev package, then delete CMakeCache.txt and re-run cmake. It *might* be able to use that one, i don't know.

When I search on "libjpeg" in my Synaptic Package Manager (Lubuntu 11.10) I can find (among others) libjpeg8-dev. You tried that?

Are you trying to install Minetest with the Synaptic or from the terminal?

Page containing downloads based on system architecture for the dev version of libjpeg8:
http://packages.debian.org/sid/libjpeg8-devI do not know which architecture you are using, select the one for your type of system.
You will have to re-run the cmake anyway if you are compiling, unless alwayscraft has a pre-built package available.
