So, the Minetest.net homepage text is a bit... bland. So I figured I would try to rewrite it. No offence to anyone here, though.
Bolded words are headings. Italics are areas I'm not so sure about. Underlined phrases are comments
Welcome to Minetest!
Minetest is a near-infinite (somewhere around 31000 blocks in all directions or so) game set in a Voxel world, inspired by Minecraft, Infiniminer, and the like. In the game, you can destroy or place blocks, craft items, and let your imagination go crazy! Plus, with a easy-to-use and program modding API , there is no shortage of ways to make your game the way you want it! Minetest has been developed and used by Perttu (Celeron55) Ahola (and a large dev community) since October 2010, and utilizes Irrlicht and C++ to be much faster than games written in Java.
Features
-Amazingly simple Lua-based Modding API that runs in the server environment, so you don't need to download any mods in order to play online servers that have different mods than you! Always wished that you had a feature that isn't included in your game? It's easy to make it yourself!
-Multiplayer that doesn't take all day to set up. Just select your map and click Start Game to create your own server. Granted, to host an online server, you will need to forward ports. To learn more, see the following link: http://wiki.minetest.com/wiki/Setting_up_a_server
-Dynamic lighting that makes the world look beautiful. Remember, Italics are parts I'm not sure about
-Runs on nearly any platform, thanks to C++ and Irrlicht
