I have recently installed Minetest on Ubuntu, but I need to find the minetest.conf file and the folders where Minetest is. But I can not find it.
Any ideas?

Have a look around or search for minetest.conf in a search thing. Not sure

Installed system-wide on Linux, those folders would be in ~/.minetest (ctrl-h to show hidden folders in most file managers). Minetest.conf should be in there, and you can create the /textures/all, /games, and /mods/minetest folders in there as well.

Open the home folder and click view and check 'show hidden folders'
click .minetest
minetest.conf is in this folder
Hope I helped :-P

I want to unhide the folder so I can keep on my desktop and use it from there. Don't like the hassle of opening the home folder to get to it. I enabled show hidden everywhere but when I move it to the desktop I still have to have a folder window open to see it there.

Please don't bump and hijack 3 year old threads to post your own questions.

Just create a shortcut (Click on that folder, click on make link, then move the shortcut to Desktop. [source]) where the name of the shortcut doesn't start with a dot (.)

Or make a symbolic link using a terminal

do all that before I posted one I don't get a make link option and the terminal way didn't work either.

Fixed it just installed the run in place instead of global.
