on my old laptop when i play minetest on singleplayer or multiplayer all the items are different textures like leaves are lava source and mese are leavs, cobble is this random white block thing. it still is the same thing when u place it down but when its in the inventory its completely different (textures). bad_command said it had something to do with my graphics card. its a a 5 or 6yr old dell that still runs on xp and intel centrino duo. any suggestions on how i can fix it?

what texture pack are you using it may be a texture problem
if default one try deleting it if you have nice worlds copy them and reinstall minetest

Wasn't not enough memory causing that?

You could put a small OS like Lubuntu on your laptop. Lubuntu should still fit on a 700 MB CD. You can use the Lubuntu OS from CD. If you like it, you can install it. If you don't like it you can use a (re)writable CD and overwrite it (you can also keep it and put some virus scanners/antimalware on it and use it to clean your xp if necessary :-) )

Yep, same thing happens to me on WIN XP, Its fine on my Ubuntu comp, but on my XP comp, everytime the client is restarted, the textures in the inventory are randomly re-assigned and some are blank/images of the world?
