Probably all modmakers want their own mods to be reviewed. *pointing to my signature* ;)

I wouldn't mind my mods getting reviewed.

Namely:
Industrial: http://minetest.net/forum/viewtopic.php?id=692
Fake Blocks: http://minetest.net/forum/viewtopic.php?id=3955

Industrial is an old mod of mine that I plan to do more updates to. Fake Blocks is a new mod.

Alright, cool! RAPHAEL, I'll get your reviews done in a day or 2 :D. And Casimir, do you want me to do your mods, and maybe even your texture pack? Raphael, I'll also post some screenshots on your mod page if you like :D

Uhmm, I just downloaded this is what I get with the textures....:

They're all just a mix of colors. You have to create a texture pack folder and enter the textures of each one, with the correct name with each texture.

Sorry, I cannot do a review when its lke this D:.

This is what I get with the fake blocks mod. I'll try the Industrial one soon.

Fake Blocks only has the textures when the mod they go with is installed. So to use the moreblocks fake blocks you have to have moreblocks installed. You need to read the description of the mod post lol.

None of them is actually finished. But a review of the texturepack would be nice (cause I'm very proud of it :) ).

Criticisms :

  • Actually review the Mods and Texture packs, because at the moment, you're just showing them.
  • Talk in your videos, it's a real downside if you can't review it quickly and in detail.
  • Review the best and only the best mods and texture packs, otherwise your videos consist of awful mods and texture packs.
  • Don't review uncompleted mods and texture packs, review them when they finish.

Anyway, I like the idea behind them, and I think they'll improve throughout the reviews.

Keep on going!

Obiewan1111, This Topic is for people to me review mods, nobody ever said reviewing mods has to have someone talking in it. But yes I agree it would be better if I did. Something I will consider. And I am reviewing them, I don't know how I am not reviewing them, I am showing what they are, what there functions are, and how to craft them if possible. And why not review uncompleted mods and texture packs? It's kind of like a previews :-)!

And why not review all of them? Who is to say which mod is best? It depends on what you want, And for texture packs, people have different tastes on what they like!

[EDIT] I also try to do them in detail. I don't have a whole lot of time. I have a real life to worry about also :D

Exactly, you just proved my point. The definition of Review is: A formal assessment or examination of something.

And you are hardly assessing it, just showing it (ie. How to craft, what it looks like and it's functions), there are no opinions in the videos, therefore they aren't classed as reviews.

O_o, Assessment doesn't say I have to give my oppinion, neither does examination say that... and examination means to show something in detail, am I not showing them in detail? O_o

No, a review is not just showing the mods and texture packs.

And yes, Assessment does say that you have to give your opinion. Assessing something, in this scenario, means you give the pros and the cons, and then also your opinions on whether you like it. And no, not in that case does examination to mean showing something in detail.

*mehappy* :D
But I think I have to update the description of the stoneage mod. You can find the flint when crating a new world, use that flint to craft a Hand-axe, use that tool to cut down trees (this mod also prevents you from cutting trees with bare fist and wooden tools), use more flints to craft stonetools (just like with cobblestone - you can still use cobble anyway). So it is not a mod that only adds new stuff, but changes the gameplay.

@Obiewan
I think it is fun to see what others have done, even it is not finished or one of the best. But you are right about the talking. It would be much easier for him.

p.s. I really like the music in the texturepack review.

Thank you casimir. And ObieWan1111, I am sorry for arguing with you, its not good for me to argue with anybody :-). But this is how I will be doing it, wether you like it or not. This is what I consider what a review is. Can we be friends? :-)

Unless Obiewan1111, changes his mind. He will be doing the reviews "Correctly". So ask him not me. I will do it if he changes his mind.

If you have fun making reviews, then make them, no mater what others say. And do them the way you want to. There is nothing you "have to do".

Wrong. In order to do reviews, you have to review them. Rather than just show them, if you get what I mean.
