How do I start a LAN game

by neron » Sun Dec 23, 2012 03:17

Hi everyone,
I have several offline computers which I connect with an ethernet switch or by a direct ethernet cable connection. Some are running Windows and some are running Ubuntu. How do I connect them all for a multiplayer game?
Thanks in advance.

You start a lan game on port 30011 by default, open port 30011 on your network alone and others on your network can play.
If you can think it, you can make it.

Are you saying that I put an abnormal brain into a seven and a half foot long, fifty-four inch wide GORILLA?

You can find your internal IP by opening a command line.

On Windows, press Windows+R then type in "cmd" without quotes, then type this:
ipconfig

On Ubuntu, open a Terminal (search "Terminal" in the Dash if you're using Unity) then type this:
ifconfig
