if not and this is just a poll then we should splitt it into (at least) two parts:

who do you think is a good programmer/modder

who do you think is a good moderator/admin/project-leader

Pilzadam is a good coder and the ideas he realises are usualy good, i use alot of his mods, the same is true for cornernote. i use a bit less of xyzs mods but anyways.

as a person i like Oldcoder because he is a robot and realbadangel.

i think i would also like realbadangels technic-mod but its too complex and not split into parts…

celeron55 is a bit difficult topic: on the one hand he did a LOT of work, on the other hand he nearly ignored minetest for a while… on the third :D hand he integrated the community afterwards on the fourth hand he does not realy lead minetest… yeah, well as i said difficult.

I forgot Cumehtar, qwrwed and Cactuz :P

anyway I can't decide who I would consider "respected". To me virtually everyone here who contributes deserves some respect for their part in making minetest better. Of course if it weren't for celeron55 minetest likely wouldn't even be as good as it is now (forgive me if I overlooked some devs who played key roles in minetests development, all devs are great imo).

Frankly my view is that anyone who contributes should not be overlooked no matter how small the contribution. Every mod, every improvement, every step is helping minetest become better. I thank you all.

Well, this is my opinion:

I really respect VanessaE because she is very patient, and is always there when you need some help. She can't answer every one of my (dumb) questions, but yeah, she has helped a lot, and is in general good company when things on #minetest get a bit boring.

PilzAdam is a great coder and mod developer, and is also there when you need some answers/advice.

OldCoder has been a nice friend, and is always willing to help by testing mods, and things unrelated to Minetest. Thanks to him I was able to meet more young coders like myself, and learned to have more patience, because you can't judge a book from it's cover.

marktraceur is a bit idle on the channels, but nevertheless he's got my respect, for he has answered many questions I had about the engine.

RealBadAngel is a good coder, and his works are truly amazing. (btw RBA, I love the Minetest wallpaper you made).

rubenwardy I like your mods, and you're hosting my computer mod in your Minetest Extensions website ^_^

Shaun and RAPHAEL have helped me to improve my IRC mod, so they also have my utmost respect.

I forgot to mention Jeija, sapier, and al the other mesecons devs. Your work is awesome.

If I don't mention someone, it's not that I don't respect him/her. It's just that these are the ones that come of the top of my head.

BTW: I also like your maps Aqua, and Josh, davidpace, aldobr have been good friends.
