FOSS gamedev and creative worlds

I noticed some people talking about advertising minetest and I'm making a topic about it so here's a few advertising ideas.

1. If you own a website put some stuff about minetest on it
Now this is completely your choice I can't force you to do this so its up to you

2. Talk about it in any way (social network,face to face,etc)
What better way to get minetest out there than talking about it?

If you have any other ideas say them but remember the community shouldnt get to big or it would be a big mess ;-)

There's a facebook community here, but there hasn't been that much activity recently. There's a really ancient, dead facebook page here, and a newer one here (1089 likes?!?!).

It could help a bit ;)

Thats the topic I saw this on but the topic purpose was asking why it isn't more popular this is about making more known

1. no, it will say "A Minecraft Rip-Off" xD 2. therd will be some of PilzAdam'S simple mobs skins, like same monster... tell me if i cant, because the textures are not WTFPL (sometimes i thought it was a typo, and had to be wtfppl)

Yea, you can use them if you want. But I dont think they look good at a t-shirt...

Wow that is good may I ask what program it was made with?

Just my desktop environment's screenshot utility to capture the screen once I had my player positioned just right, and The GIMP to apply a few effects.

The texture pack used at the time was HDX, all files therein were created with Inkscape and The GIMP, but none specifically for that image.

Why would you want to get minetest out there right now? Maybe when 0.5 comes out sure, or when it's more stable sure, all that's going to happen now is a player will join, be like the normal "Blah blah, I'm new, what is this? Oh it's buggy? Blah! BLAH BLAH! I'm leaving this is poopoo!!1!!!!!1!!!1" because they don't understand how to internet, and yea.

Think about it do we want a ton of people that don't understand it and at the first problem talk trash no,no we dont

were will we sell the t-shirts? I reckon on the minetest site.
You could pay with paypal/bank deposit then get it delivered to you. I reckon we should sell them at 2 or 4 dollars. :)

josh, no, cause we already discussed this, that we wont buy the shirts, then sell them... and 3-4 bucks isnt enought...

How about, somebody makes the shirts, then they sell the shirts, then... The money made goes to celeron55!!!

No not all the $$$ goes to c55, most of it :-). Whoever makes the shirts gets to keep some percentage of the money :D.

Ummm and there shouldn't be just one person working on it, there should be multiple people working on it :D

the company making the t shirts gets maybe 50-75%
