This comes up when I try to get onto the game using the latest build dated 24/01/13

Quick search in the internet (i.e. copy the error message to a search engine (https://ixquick.com/ in my case)) resulted in this: http://www.tech-pro.net/howto_015.html
Seems like you cant access some of the .dll files. Have you unzipped the archive correctly?

It should ship with your system.
Admin pro tempore on 0gb.us:30000. Ask me if you have a problem, or just want help.
This is a signature virus. Add me to your signature so that I can multiply.
Now working on my own clone, Mosstest.
I guess I'm back for some time.

I do remember that for whatever reason that DLL was not available on XP when I had it and used one of the latest minetests (a few months back). Other versions of Windows I cannot comment on.

I'm sorry to say this but they don't work. I have used 7zip to extract the files and it still comes up with the exact same error.

Is your virus scanner removing the file after it's downloaded because of 'low reputation'?

My antivirus eats it. It's a heuristic/signature approach, not some sort of whitelist. Zipballs look fine.

In addition to a few languages, a few improvements have been added to the Github repository for this game recently. One of them is the ability to generate flat maps. Random seed generation, perlin API, and perlin noise have also been improved. I found this stuff out by looking at the changelog on Github.

When using Direct 3D and setting the game to fullscreen, the player must not only adjust the screen size, but the color bit-rate as well.

I think if you install Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package you shouldn't have to copy msvcr100.dll into the bin folder of minetest.

x86 http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555
x64 http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=14632

I've never had to find msvcr100.dll and put it in the bin folder, but I think I've got the above installed. I'm surprised you don't have it installed already seems like a lot of stuff depends on it.

Sfan5 and PilzAdam have released new builds. Will you do so as well? Yours seem to work the best.

Are you capable of 64-bit builds? They might work better on 64-bit computers.

The current git version has a few useful additions to it. Will you compile it? Improved physics, multi-line signs, and FreeType support are some of those additions.

I am glad to see that you are still making github builds with Direct X in them. I like the new font style, though it will need some polish (when loading a world or a server, things like the progress percentage and the check-boxes do not show up.) The server list doesn't show up, but this is probably due to the cURL issue. Please do keep making builds, as some users have an easier time with Direct X.

It seems that xyz makes builds on a weekly basis, jojoa1997. It will probably be a while.

Thank you for getting cURL to work again. Looking at the recent changes to the github version of Minetest, I can see some nice additions and fixes. Having the server list be from this site is one of those changes.
