default:cloud?

What is default:cloud? I assumed it was a dummy block, used to tell the client what the clouds should be made to look like, although they themselves are not nodes. However, I changed the image of default:cloud to a different image, and the clouds remained the same.

Does anyone know what default:cloud is? Is it maybe a legacy block, and clouds used to be handled in the way I described?

Thanks!

I have no idea, all I know is it's completely indestructible and it's been around for a while.

The clouds are hard coded in the c++ code and are not nodes.
default:cloud is just a block with a cloud texture. If you want a real use for it you should try my PilzTest game.

Yeah, that's what I thought.

I'm not actually looking for a use for them, I was just wondering why they are in the game. I'm sure there is a reason. But I would like to try your PilzTest game this weekend, to see what your take on Minetest is.
