Ok so I saw this post on the forums of minetest:http://forum.minetest.net/viewtopic.php?pid=82901#p82901.Then There was a link to the minecraft forums.The topic is about a dude showing minetest to minecraft.I scrolled down to see what people was thinking when I saw phycozz saying that
Phycozz wrote:I just tested the newest version, and I was getting 30-60 FPS
It was fluctuation constantly which made it seem a lot laggier.
In Minecraft I get 90-140 FPS"

I also saw insomniac lemon which said that
Insomniac_lemon wrote:"Well, I tried Minetest, and it wasn't that fast for me. I couldn't find FPS anywhere, but I found something called "Drawtime". That was going from about 5-30.
In recent versions Minecraft, I get anywhere from 60-120 FPS based on my graphic settings, and what version I'm playing. Different versions have different code, so my FPS can be better in certain versions.
On classic in the browser, I was getting anywhere from 60 to even almost 300 FPS....
Which brings it up, can Minetest be played in a browser like Minecraft can? Technically that is a platform.
Irrlicht doesn't make Minetest less prone to coding issues, that is all up to the developer.

Upon trying Minetest, I have a few corrections to make. Grass grows, trees grow(The tree growing was finicky, however, I placed one sapling and it grew about 3 seconds after I planted it, but others did not grow in 3-4 minutes), and there is water and lava.
However, there are no particles, and the water/lava is not animated. I actually didn't run into ANY mobs whatsoever (even in caves).
Also, annoyingly, I had to install visual C++ to get it to work. It didn't say on the download page that that was required."

Are they having problems with their computer that they can't find good fps in minetest?
Ok guys I rewritten it hope you guys understand

Um when did you come here. Minetest has no mobs ever since mod support.

Just so you know, the best way to quote someone is to
Your phone or window isn't wide enough to display the code box. If it's a phone, try rotating it to landscape mode.
Code: Select all
quoted text
And what is drawtime?

Wrong

Minecraft is written in Java, Java can be embedded seamlessy in browsers as applets with some extra lines of code.
Minetest is written in C++ and would needed to be compiled to js with emscripten( relevant ), also Irrlicht and OpenAL would need to be ported to the browser too.

Hey. The only thing I can say here that after about 50fps i doesn't matter. Human eyes cannot spot the difference between 45 and, say, 65 fps.

I found the same low fps until I put
Your phone or window isn't wide enough to display the code box. If it's a phone, try rotating it to landscape mode.
Code: Select all
wanted_fps = 160
fps_max = 200

That really help with fps. The default is 60 max and 30 want

First of all, the person quoted looked at ANOTHER different measure, the lower the better.

They sure can, and you can even see the difference between 60 and 120 FPS if you've got a 120Hz screen.

Putting some settings in the config file cannot magically raise your fps..

Maybe try playing around with the "wanted_fps" setting (add it in minetest.conf), default is 30. On my old laptop, putting it to a very low or very high value reduces FPS, though, but we never know, try setting it to 20 or 40 to see.

you see it is not magically raised you just change the allowed max. before i was lucky to get 40 fps when i changed i never went below 100 in most cases
