I'd like to know, how long can you get banned and how big is the crime to get yourself banned?

You can get banned permanently if your actions warrant it. If you have to ask, either you're planning on doing something, or you just haven't read the forum rules (see the link at the top of this page).

A ban is up to the server admin. Just read the forum topic of the server you want to play on.

You can get banned here. If you want to be super rude an inapropriate or ask to be banned. or...you can copy what cornernote did...

... which was to blank out, and then restore, and then go and ask to be banned. Repeatedly. I don't remember why; he was a damn fine member. Still use a few of his mods (inventory_plus, bags).
