An advertising bot on the forums? [Solved]

When words such as these appear, they sometimes become a link to an ad? Me, or the forums? Does anyone else get this?

Spambots make posts with links to ads in random words, yes. The forum doesn't do that. Just report posts like that and a moderator will delete them and ban the spambot.

Can you give us a screenshot? It could be anything from people posting ads to your internet provider inserting them into the web pages you view (yeah, some ISPs do that).

FYI: I've been running Linux (Fedora) now for over 6 months (on-line daily with 12 Mbps) with no anti-malware software, just a firewall. Zero, repeat, zero issues with malware.

I have dual boot windows/Linux, but whenever I run Linux (12.10 Ubuntu) I just get a message saying that there has been a severe software problem, then it runs really slowly.

Final suggestion: freeware apps such as uTorrent like to hide things like that in their installers. Avoid iLivid and other "free" file downloaders. If the installer says, do you want to install this 'malware', kill the installer.

I have never gone near iLivid, I don't trust it, and never will. When I download a file I now always run a Norton scan on it to make sure it is less likely to be bad, and I always go for the custom install with installers, to try and make sure that there is no malware being installed.

Even if you click: 'I don't want it.' some continue anyway without giving a damn.

My Win xp are malware-proof. I modelled them by my image (they are ugly)
