These are all very interesting services. I sure hope that they get used.

Mumble, Mediagoblin and Diaspora definitely get used. The Media Server is entirely up to you guys :)
StarBlessed, having your own personal server isn't difficult, you just ask people, aka, me, Calinou, PilzAdam to moderate / admin the server while you're not there. It's pretty simple. :P

I know, but it seems everyone has a server. If I provide a way of getting around the slow logins (read Global Media Server), then it benefits everyone, right?

Think of it... No more 45 minute waits while all the assets download from the Minetest server! Now THATS something!
Hehe, but you could use your server to demo the remote_media setting. ;)

Will Minetest servers be able to use the Mumble server? LandMine attempted to do something similar not too long ago.

Umm... why would the Minetest server do something with mumble?
If you meant the client, why would we need to integrate Mumble into Minetest?

Mumble can play positional audio based on the speaking players position in the game relative to the listening player, but that requires the game support it. I don't know what it would take for minetest to support that but it would be cool.
