Hi, I'm new, I came to "Minetest" as I was looking for a minecraft alternative that my current dinosaur computer could possibly handle. If anybody knows the system requirements and could post them on this topic that would be great. I wonder because every time i try and download the newest or older version of Minetest, I get it installed and extracted and open the final application in the bin file and either it crashes right away or my computer freezes with a command prompt window open that says my current operation system.

There are no published "official" system requirements AFAIK, though there are reports of it being played on a Pentium 4 (barely playable). I'd say you need a dual-core at a minimum.
If you provide some information about your system, we may be able to help; in particular, operating system, processor model, graphics card vendor & model, and amount of memory installed on the system.
Edit: the crashes may not be related to running in a low-end system; some people with the best of the best still get crashes.

Well, for starters I have 504mb of RAM, and my graphics card is an old Intel(R) 82945G Express Chipset Family, my processor is Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.8GHz (2 CPUs). I have 35.5GB of space left, total it has 74GB. Lastly my operating system is Microsoft Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600)
Don't make fun of me, aha...

Noone will make fun of you :)
My advice is that you follow the instructions on
this topic, so we may know what is actually causing the crashes.
