playing around with bumpmapping

http://imgur.com/a/UfFuUobviously, doesn't work well with 16px packs. but it's better for 64px.
so, what do you guys think?

In the "util" directory of Minetest Git, there is a .sh script used to generate normal maps.

i don't use linux so i can't execute .sh and i don't use gimp.

Pilzadam's attempt was a joke. Had it not been, it looks bad because he didn't use the script properly, evidently didn't experiment with any of the various switches to change filters, strength, etc etc.
I didn't write that script with the intent that it be run on a whole folder full of textures and its output be directly used - I expected users to change settings depending on the materials and textures being bumpmapped.

Looks like your shader support is busted entirely (this only works on Minetest builds that have OpenGL support, due to the language the shaders are written in).
