Excuse me, I recently discovered Minetest and I think ia awesome, but I have a few questions. First of all, how do you beat the game, in minecraft ypu must do some specific things, here? How do you beat the game? Is the story same as Minecraft? What about the relationship with Minecraft, I know that Minetest is written in C++ while Minecraft is in Java, but, can they communicate someway? Please answer me, I need to know about the story and the completion :/
Thank you for your time:-D

Long version.

There is no story at all.

Do what you will as it harms no other.

8^D

EDIT: No, minetest and minecraft don't communicate. At least not without some sort of specialized mod or something. I have never heard of a mod that does that sort of thing. Though I did hear of one that allowed you to bring parts of worlds (or maybe it was entire minecraft worlds) into minetest.

The relation to Minecraft is actually pretty complicated: Some people hate it as hell and think everything that Minetest has in common with Minecraft is bad (which is ridiculous), others see Minetest as a Minecraft clone and want as many features from it as possible.

'Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law'. There is no story, beating or completion.
I love Minecraft but not the end dimension, seems too mainstream like they were forced to add a completion to make it commercially viable. A sky dimension would have been better.

Just say you have a goal to sucessfully find 1000000000000000000000000000 Mese.
That can be a story if you want ;-)

Impossible. Assuming the world is 60000x60000x60000 you will have only 21,600,000,000,000 nodes.

They are two different programs. But it is possible to convert texturepacks and parts of worlds from Minecraft to Minetest.

"Soldier, we have reports of an old sowjet missile base which should be hidden somewhere in this area, so we're dropping you off with no equipment at all. Your objective is simple: Use whatever materials you can aquire to build an surveillance outpost, then go and find out whether thoose reports are true. Good luck, son."

That's as good a story as any modern military shooter AA title... xD

But, for something competely different... erm... more peaceful:
"You awaken in a lush forest. You have no idea where you are. You have no idea who you are. Have you been kidnapped? Did you have an accident? Who knows... all you know is you're stranded in this place, with no one else around. It looks like you're staying in this place for a while... You're feeling hungry. Maybe you can find something to eat. Maybe you can find some shelter too."

... or, is it a post-apocylypse and you're the last person alive?
... or, a secret goverment experiment?
... or something else completely?

But, seriously, minetest is whatever you make out of it :)
