Keeping a server up

I'm an admin of my own server that I host along with my father.
I just simply need to know how to keep my server online without the admin on it. Every time the admin logs off, the server shuts down.

oh my gosh.
sorry, I didn't mean to be rude. Anyhoo, if you are running Windows, click on your start menu, go under all programs, and look under accessories or something like that. It will probably have calculator and paint and notepad in it. Terminal is Command Prompt. If on Linux, then it will be a lot more complex to figure out, especially on the distribution.

I am 90% positive that your statement is true. (Though he might have a Mac (roughly 8.5%) or by some
random FREAK of
coincidence he might have Linux (less than 2%) and never heard of the terminal.)

You can not hear of the terminal as a GNU/Linux user. It's just that knowing about the terminal makes it easier for people to feed you instructions for how to do something.

You never answerd the nolan's question. I have the same problem. How can I stay online my server with no need I be present?

Open terminal and type "minetest --server --worldname (name of your server) without the ()". That starts the server without you as a player. If you close the terminal, you have just stopped the server.

I was going to ask how you could possibly not have known this but also have a GitHub account ...though a cursory search revealed that you in fact have no such account.
You could probably use some reading material:
