FOSS gamedev and creative worlds

Is there any way to do this? I don't actually want to convert premade minecraft worlds, but rather would like this so I could use an editor like world painter, then convert the file to minetest. Is there any way to do this?

Yes, someone wrote an MCEdit script so could copy parts of a minecraft world into wordedit format.

He said using an editor like Worldpainter, MCEdit fits into a similar category I think.

99% Of the time search function says nothing found when it obviously does exist.
