I was looking at recording Minetest yesterday. I noticed that when I record Minetest I get around 5 to 10 fps...
When I record Minecraft I get around 15 to 30 fps....
I thought this game was supposed to be easy to run!? Can someone please explain?

i usually drop to about 28 when recording - depends on the speed of the processor, and memory, whether it is singleplayer or a server, and even where the recording is on the hard drive relative to the program - there are tons o variables that change recording speed performance

Blame your recording software? I get ~40 FPS while recording with Gtk-Recordmydesktop (Linux, crappy Intel integrated graphics adapter).

In any case, I don't see how "easy to run" is related to your case.

Use SimpleScreenRecorder, it's better than gtk-recordmydekstop.
