best christmas mod

christmas time is around the corner, so start saving up ideas for the best christmas mod!

deadline will be christmas

i will end up making one of my dumb adventure rpg things, where you maybe have to find something while collecting presents from underneath christmas trees, and "present" trees that drop things like jetpacks and gold in addition to saplings! - and of course there will be the awful boomshrooms so a great present would probably be torches!

get those ideas together and start modding it up!

How about apple trees (so you can copy code), but instead with apples it is with Christmas decorations/balls (basically apples) but in all colours).

Under such trees or others (questions of balance) there will be present blocks. If you dig them they drop stuff. But not only minerals or similar, also rails because of the cliché that every Christmas tree has a little train underneath it. And some tools that are "chrrismassy" (like axe but not so much pickaxe).

The "samplings" could drop smaller objects, like nuts, little gems.

Also: take the nyan cat code[1] and make it look like a sledge, it should spawn above / in sight of the player at 24.12 at 00:00 or next time while Christmas days when the player logs in.

I don't know how to handle the different traditions and the different days.

Also snowman blocks.

snowman blocks! - excellent! - and the train! - wow!

so far i have 2 trees working:

a "christmas" pine tree - plantlike, 4 nodes high like a cactus- looks ok - stole it from my ski mod that still isn't working - there are sorrel mushrooms under it (true meaning of the christmas tree blah blah google it) - the mushroom nodebox stolen from my gespensterwald haloween game - also looks ok - sorrel mushrooms restore 2 health (1 heart) when eaten

and a "pear" tree - like an apple tree but different looking - drops everything from jetpacks (rare - very low chance of getting one) to ore lumps to pickaxes to torches (not rare - very high chance of getting one)

i've put it into the new shupagen and it works, so now i'm putting a rpg story together to tie it up

we will see how it goes

Help Rhin to find his Grandfather's House.

Adult-level gameplay with 'extremely challenging' terrain. You will need all your MC skills and...you will probably still die. Jungles, grasslands and snow biomes highlight this incredibly simple yet addictive rpg mod. Parcour your way up mountainsides, hide from the Ghostshrooms that attack in the Dark, stay alive and find Rhin''s Grandfather's House to win. Appletrees have at least one apple. There are Sorrel Mushrooms under the pine trees (horrible texture but meh it is only me these days not a whole game studio) that replace 2 health (1 heart) when eaten. There are also "Present Trees" that drop all sorts of things from jetpacks (dangerous!) to diamond pickaxes (sweet!), ingots, torches and some other wonderful things. Be sure to check your inventory after harvesting Present Tree leaves as some things may go straight to inventory instead of dropping.

SHUPA_CHRISTMAS_MOD, attached below. Untar it into MODS folder. Create a new world, configure it, then hit play and hold on. It is a MAPGEN MOD not an adventure world, SO BE PATIENT AND LET IT LOAD.

i came from up there, so that's about a 5:1 glide ratio maybe - not bad, and i was turning and dropping a lot - looks further in mt than as a screenshot


download, untar into MODS folder, overwrite the old mod with the wingsuit version - everything else is the same, this one just has the much safer wingsuit in it

Just tested to see if it works. It looks fun. I am looking forward to playing it further.
