what settings to configure for best singleplayer world loading?
Posted: Fri Jan 03, 2014 22:56I've tried fiddling with the minetest conf settings but it just seems to be really holding back on loading new blocks quickly and stops once its loaded stuff to about 1000 nodes away.. How can i configure it to load faster & to larger distance?
I'm using 0.4.7 with an 8core i7, fast discrete gfx & SSD on windows 8 with an x64 build and I cant get it to use more than about 15% CPU, varying the emerge threads seems to have little effect, it literally never goes over 15% cpu and never drops below about 45fps.... I'm loading the world from a 3G world datafile, but i figure since its on SSD & i have 16GB this shouldn't be a problem..
