FOSS gamedev and creative worlds

I have found a huge underground room full of lava. Is there any easy way to kill the lava. This room is like 10 football fields in size. it would be great to build in it.

I would go with worldedit.

Problem is that the room is probably too large for one source in one position to reach all of the lava. They would have to move it around and then dig up the obsidian and stone slowly. I know because I have done this and it took many hours even with the technic mining laser fully upgraded. :)

The iron sponge which I have also used is much faster, especially if you have dozens of them. Which at one point I almost had a full stack and used them to find ores in the bottom and sides of these lava rooms. :)

In the Fireballs mod (https://forum.minetest.net/viewtopic.php?id=6154) you can craft projectile weapons called Iceballs which can be used to harden lava into stone. You can use that to make the lava into a floor. However if you want to just remove the lava you should try out the other mods mentioned.

bro just use world edit then if any is left over you can douse it with water

Holy crap dudes. The iron sponge is awesome. You still have to drop quite a few of them, but i am talking a few. any other way i tried, i had to drop thousands of blocks and spend hours dropping and then picking up later. this takes only a few minutes.
