yeah , i like it because it has less lag and i really dont want to go look for more mods anyway

How you want, is your channel and your decisition, only looks a bit curious you don't use 0.4.13...

yeah i know , but i useally play with some of my friends on a private server i set up on my computer and i cant get anything past mietest 0.4.11 to work with it so i just stuck with mt 0.4.10 till i can figure something out

I played with sounds for torches. It's buggy and the sounds are removed when stopping the server, but it works so far

Didn't notice any performance drop yet. I use ABMs to place positional sounds and I try to use them as careful as possible.

The "old" ambience mod uses minetest.find_nodes_in_area() in an register_globalstep function, which can caues noticable performance drops. But why only in creative mode? No idea

Currently I work on rivers and oceans. Still not perfect, but not bad at all

The current code is dumb. I have to catch some cases, e.g. if the player is in a cave, but above sea level.
Or if a node is removed, that causes the sound like a single river water source in a cave

The ambient samples are relatively long. Some samples are about 60 seconds. So if you remove the reason for the noise, but the noise is still there, it's a little bit odd

I know that I can bypass the block with a proxy, but the videos shouldn't be blocked at all because there is no reason to block them. All content is free

I tinker with the pathfinder to play sounds, even if you are in a cave. There must be a hole to the surface for the pathfinder. Without you wont hear anything.

I have to tweak the parameters a bit and I think I will adjust the gain depending on the path lenght, but it works pretty well right now
