Is there a way to remove them from the world. I had a fire started in the woods and it spread, quickly and I thought oh cool will treat it like a forest fire and put it out. Hmmm never could get in front of it so i disabled fire and now have unknown nodes that if I can clear i can leave the semi forest and call it the great forest fire region........ then re instate fire but the non spreading type....... cause water don't put it out either.

Those unknown nodes retain their original name; thus, your fires-turned-unknown would be fire:basic_flame
