v1.0 10/19/11 -- Finished making better refined tools and packaged for release.
v1.1 12/17/11 -- Made new hand art and updated names + directories for 0.4
v1.2 3/24/12 -- Added support for Animals Mod, Farming Mod, and fixed directories for latest 0.4 git.
v1.2.1-LEGACY 9/12/12 -- Last support for 0.3.1 structure per user request. Minor Grass Fix per user request.
v1.3 9/12/12 -- Now Over 100+ Textures. Added Desert Sand+Sandtone. Lots of new animal textures, including support for 3D animals when used with MOBFs mod! Fixed 2D creeper texture.

History:
Other than using the existing textures in MT as a template, all the 60+ Textures were made from scratch.
Special thanks to Celeron55 for getting his permission on licensing.

The story behind this is simple. I wanted to use a few Minecraft Textures for use in a racing game, but when I asked Mojang I got this email back:

Hi Luke,
No, we will not give you permission to use any of our work. You should create your own :)

So I felt betrayed by my favorite game and did just that, also discovering Minetest's existence along the way! :D

Click the "Almost MC Texture Pack 1.3.zip" to download the latest version.
The files are licensed Creative Commons BY-SA 3.0.

Install Instructions
1. Unzip files to some place on your computer
2. Copy folders and paste into MineTest directory. Press Yes to confirm Overwrite of default textures in your MineTest directory.

Note: Once 0.4 is fully established for /textures/all/ including MOD overrides, I will update the pack, meanwhile follow the overwrite instructions.

Version 1.0 is out. I redid almost all the tools. I also discovered I could either make the icons look real good, or the actual tool but not both. So I opted for just the tools. Let me know what you think, don't forget to grab your shovels. ;)

I love this package, and voted it as new default textures. There are only two things I don't like as much, which I'll quote here:

My only objection with this texture pack is that grass (and possibly dirt too) could be less sharp and have less contrast. The grass looks like it has too many white spots on it. Also, I believe the Cobblestone and Mossy Cobblestone textures could be better. Other than that, I believe that is the best alternative at the moment.

Updated for latest git, includes support for some mods.

@MirceaKitsune: I will look into seeing what I can do about your suggestions, I tried messing around with both textures a before without much success since they go flat. But I will post some variants when I get the chance.

When the slimes are fully done and we have 3d creepers I'll have to update it again. Report any bugs/suggestions.
