MEDIEVAL - CASTLES IS STILL IN DEVELOPMENT

These are all the square textures so far...

Image

Some are made from the default textures and some are textures I added to the game. In order to load all textures you must replace the inti.lau file in the game directory. There is an install file in the zip with the textures to show you where to put the files.

I am very new to Minetest and never played MineCraft either...I love building games! I as I play and build I will create more textures and things and update my zip file as I go.

Image

Added two new window textures [Shown above].

Image

Added four new textures and a round window top for three textures.

Image

Added three beam textures, plain stone, stone with decor, and wooden beam. Also added Roman style pillar and a new crackled stone texture.

Pretty cool pack. I don't wanna be a grammar nazi, but it's actually Medieval, not "Mid-Evil". :D

Am I able to publish this texture on a website called nest of minetest? It's still growing.
Awaiting permission, sir. I'd be glad to use your own ad.fly link!

If you point to the official source, you should be fine. If you want to redistribute it from your own website (this means, uploading it to your website), make sure you have the permission to do so.

If so, I'm still able to publish it on my own website, description, etc. but the download link must be the one the author gave? Also, I give credit.

Anywhere to download this without having to sign up for anything? If I have to sign up to download I just don't download anymore.

If you need a place to put the files here's one:

Okay...I didn't know that 4Shared didn't have public downloads. Last time I used it I could download without registration. I uploaded the texture file to here: http://www.mediafire.com/?m27l891mu2aots5

This is a nice texture pack, themed appropriately for it's name.

Nice textures. My only suggestions is change iron_lump texture to something else, create an animated torch using your current torch textures (otherwise default torch texture shows) and maybe change the rails texture. Otherwise great pack.

Reduced texture size to run smoother on older machines.

Total textures 116
All textures 128x128

Average file size for each texture is 4.2kb

Total size of 116 textures: 625kb

Old size of all textures together was 7mb, was able to reduce it without loosing quality of textures. Runs good on older computers. Any smaller than 128x128 looses quality and realistic look.

Added new clay texture, iron lump, clay brick, changed fence texture, and added book texture. Tweaked some of the other textures...going to work on new torches and animations, then work on some new rail textures.

When you run latest version it still says Minetest-c55 at the bottom of main menu.

I thought this was a cool texture pack, so I'd like to see this updated to work with 0.4.7. For now, this seems to work partially:
To install, copy the textures to (minetest_directory)/textures/all.
To get the extra textures, extract, but don't replace init.lua. Instead, copy lines 1599 through 1827 from the extracted init.lua and paste them at the end of (minetest_directory)/games/minetest_game/mods/default/nodes.lua.
You might notice right away that ores besides iron and coal are not drawn correctly. As a band-aid, delete (minetest_directory)/textures/all/default_stone.png. You'll lose the hi-res texture but at least you'll be able to see the ores.
I'm just barely getting familiar with the code, so I don't know what other modifications are needed yet. Let me know if you have any suggestions.
