install linux?

That would mean I have to wipe my entire hard drive which holds the texture pack. I only have one hard drive, and no room for a dual booting. Plus I can't chuck money for hardware.

get 64gb or 24 gb usb drive, install lubuntu on it, profit!

If you can think it, you can make it.

Actually, what bits is you PC? (32, 64) Because WUBI can run Linux with dual-booting and can be removed from Add / Remove Programs. This does not create a partition, this does not create a broken boot file -- it uses the Windows one.

If you have a good CPU/GPU (with HW virtualization support) you could try VirtualBox, Minetest is playable in VirtualBox (as long as you've enabled 3D acceleration).

Or, back up your pack to an USB stick (a 8GB one costs like 10 euros). ;)

To make a texture pack work, I used to select all the individual .png files in the extracted texture pack, copy them and then paste them in this folder:

/home/2232/celeron55-minetest-4502911-copy1/textures/all

There's already one file in it, called: textures_here.txt

Ok. I think I might just stick to the normal minetest.....

Is minetest working good with this textures? I mean that 250px is really big resolution compared with default 16px textures

The texture size doesn't really change performance (unlike in Minecraft :P). It'll probably take away 3-4 FPS but it won't cut performance in half.

After a few people suggested I use linux on my pc, my pc is now nonfunctional. It can't boot up any more and the other nonsense with that, my hard drive went dead with the installation. Now all my textures are gone. Sorry.

I saved most of it on my sd card. So we'll see once I get a new pc.

The texture packs were on a download site so they should be fine it means that anything Gambit was working on on his/her PC is gone

Are you sure your hard drive actually failed? Try booting from a Live CD/DVD/USB and try to run gparted.

More likely what has happened is the boot loader didn't get installed properly on your hard disk, which is not uncommon if you have more than one hard disk (the installer sometimes guesses wrong which drive to install it on). A dead/missing bootloader can make a disk look like it's gone "dead". This may help (nevermind why it happened):

While recovering my MineToons stuff, I've gotten to working on my other pack the other day to update it some more. Hope that gets done some day.

You going to continue working on it? Because I am in love with this texture pack. I tried to change the colour of a few things to make new textures, such as "Desert Stone".

Here's the link if you want to see it, and place it into the texture pack itself: Image

This pack is epic! Can you make a video that shows you making them? Btw, what do you use to make them? I am interested in learning how packs like these are made.
