[Question] Default Ingots, thoughts?

For the longest possible time, default ingots have had minimal detail. As if they were a worthless part of the game. I think this is horrible and should be changed. Also, ore lumps. Tethered to the bottom of their image, which doesnt even flow with the equally-low-detail ingots.

I mean, c'mon people. You're fixing things that are obscurely broken, while your textures are just sitting there, simple to fix, needing to be fixed. What is this, the 90's? The textures can be much better, there's texture packs made HERE that look much better than... THOSE.

I think that each ingot should have a symbol stamped on it like this . sorry for such a bad representation but I am on tablet right now.

Take a look at that:

I especially like the coal and the metal-lumps (first row). The problem with the default textures is that they are just, well, lumps and you can only tell what they represent by their colour.

I'm working on a texture pack which includes additional textures for wielded ingots.

I can't decide If I want to rotate the wielded ingot 90 degrees or if its fine like this.

Rotate it so it looks like you are holding it in your hand not ready to stab someone.
