ghostshell, it was decided around March 2011, so it is probably going to stick.

A texture pack can be used with any installation of Minetest. For a system-wide installation on linux, extract all the files to ~/.minetest/textures/all.

Hello, it is I again here to update you guys and gals with the PixelBOX Fun Pack. The Fun Pack is just a large set of textures at random for you guys to used for mods and such. I names them all "default" due to the fact there are multiple mods that share the same concept of textures. That's your guys' fault. Enjoy.

I made a conversion of this pack for 0.3. What license is it released under? Can I distribute my version?

Thanks, but no thanks. I prefer to do things on my own.

So am I allowed to use some of the textures* for nodetest and my garden mod, alternate them and publish those under a free licence?

*e.g.: apple, book, paper, sapling, wheat

PixelBOX Fun Pack has been updated with dozens of 16x16 textures. Some are revisions and/or slightly modified (for the better) leading up a total of 464 textures.

You are allowed to use them for your mods, yes. Renaming the file of the .png to accommodate your mod is also fine. However you can't alter the pics nor publish them under a different license. Apart from the file name, you must publish the textures as is along with credit.

The Pixelbox Fun Pack has been Updated. Grass colors are a bit different now. The Side Grass has changed, as well as the hues of Papyrus, Bronze Ingot/Block, and the Dry Shrub is different looking.

Download the Updated Fun Pack on the first post.

This supports zero mods, and it doesn't even cover all the minetest 0.4.9 textures. (in other words, it's outdated)

But it also covers mods that do not exist yet. This way it is way ahead of it's time.

Sorry to say there's going to be a small hiccup for a while since Ubuntu One is shutting down service. I'll either have to go with Dropbox, Google Drive, or some other alternative service to hold my texture packs. So stay tight, I'll shop around for something that fits. If anyone has any suggestions, please leave a comment.

To this day I'm still adding new textures to PixelBOX, I'm a little worried if MineToon will catch up to it.

Thanks for all your patience, as you all may notice I'm not the most prioritized person. I feel I need to clean up ad organize a lot more. Fixing my schedule will be a good start.

Why not using the attachments the forum offers?

Did you know that Freeminer uses this texture pack? It really does make that fork of Minetest stand out.

Yes, I was asked months ago if I would allow it.

Casimir wrote:Why not using the attachments the forum offers?

Because I feel I should have a spare link elsewhere in case this forum went kabloowy. Also, I believe it only allowed one attachment per post.
