Here is background I made. It was made in GIMP, although I exported it to a .png and a Photoshop image. The dimensions are {1280w X 800h} here is to link to it.

This only took me about 20 minutes. (about the length of a Minetest day.)

It is a good wallpaper and you should be proud of it.

Pretty cool. One could say it shows what Minetest is about, without using ingame-graphics.

well, I think the logo says enough... I dunno. I'll work on it on my next one.

I only used three filters in gimp for the background, and two for the logo and 'Minetest' I make the same background type all the time. I am enjoying myself though...

On the subject of wallpapers:

Awesome! There should be a "fan stuff" section on the main site where you can upload all these wallpapers, (screensavers maybe coming too)...
