...in comparison to 512px textures, the are just fine.

Well, here it is. My first actual texture pack. I hated how big some are, so I settled for somewhere in between: 64 x 64. (as said above is under development. I will be getting the next and official release out in about a month, maybe more, maybe less.)

I have made many of the textures bump-mapped, so a lot of the stone stuff looks better.

major to-do:

make some of the graphics I did a rather hasty job on better.

License: GPLv3

BONUS: includes a choice between 2 skins, 1 female, and 1 male. Just rename one or the other to character.png. If you don't like either, and you prefer your own, don't bother with them. They don't do anything (yet at least).

feedback is appreciated, especially compliments and what I need to add textures for/improvise on (because nobody really likes negative, put-down comments, am I right?)

have fun with it! :)

The download works.

First thing I noticed, when I opened the zip file, was:
there are different folders and inside these folders there are txt and lua files besides the textures.
These files are not necessary.
I'd put all textures in one folder, named philipbenrs_64pix_graphix_0.5, or something like that, without empty spaces(!).

This, of course, is just some technical stuff...

I took all the textures and put them in the .../textures/all folder.

When I played the game I instantly had the feeling you put quite some love in those textures.
Most of 'em are smooth and detailed at the same time.

I'd give the stone textures (stone, desert_stone, stone_brick...) more contrast and/or detail.
The leaves have some vertical stripes (hope you know what I mean) which are a bit strange.

All in all I'd say this is a very nice texture pack. Keep up the good work.

This looks interesting, can you PM me if you are done (i.e. support all 0.4.7 default textures)?

I do the best on them I can, really. And thanks so much for the advice about the technical stuff. I really didn't know how to do it... and as for improvising stone, I'll look into it.

sure, I'd be happy to do almost, if not all of them. and if 0.4.8 gets out and anything new comes in, I'll probably do that too.

Thanks for the support guys. :)

Looks very nice! Also, change
"under dev" to "WIP" (WIP meaning Work In Progress)

Give bump mapping a try, since it will make your textures look nicer.

I have been trying out bump-mapping, so I'll give it a shot in a later version. My latest wallpaper I'm working on uses bump-mapping.

I am now ready to do support for mods (have started on farming_plus and have finished Blockmen's doors addition...)

anyone who would like for me to do textures for their mod, please ask, give a link and wait. I should be able to do this since I have finished the default stuff. the first one (if not huge or small) should be done within a week or less.

I did use it and it has been released in version 1.0

Edit: I am done with the default game, except for vessels. I will do those, and I'm happy to do textures for other people in this texture pack
