Yes it does. I do it all the time. You just middle click the download button and copy the link in the top nav bar. Paste that into a url like so: <url=downloadrandomnumber.mediafire.com/whatnot>
an example:
<url=download1474.mediafire.com/m5giiq42ebrg/1rcqxkrk567pd4h/PaRaNoYa+2152014.zip>
That is the url code for my Mediafire download for my latest texture pack, PaRaNoYa.

That page takes me to a 'There was a problem with your download' page and then takes me to the download page.
You can't do things like this with mediafire
