Just extract all the images into the minetest/data/ directory. To make it easy to switch between texture packs, I put the TP's directory somewhere else and then make minetest/data a link ('man ln' to see how) to the TP directory. Then I just need to swap the link.

Put the images into

Your phone or window isn't wide enough to display the code box. If it's a phone, try rotating it to landscape mode.
Code: Select all
~/.minetest/cisounspack/

(for example) and edit your

Code: Select all
~/.minetest/minetest.conf

and insert there:

Code: Select all
texture_path = /home/yourusername/.minetest/cisounspack

replace yourusername with you login name. Sadly ~ doesn't work

Pyro_Phoenix, can you post your minetest.conf file?

That means Pyro_Phoenix is probably not using the installed version but rather the RUN_IN_PLACE version, in which case the configuration file should be located at the root of the source directory.

When you extract a texture pack, just put the PNG files in the /data directory. ;)
Not here for a while due to some troubles between my graphic card and Minetest.

celeron55: I did download the .deb file and install it.

cisoun: Where is it on Linux?

My bad, you've installed Minetest by a .deb.
You should look in the deb where the files are located (I think about something like /usr/share/minetest) and find the /data directory, then you can put the pngs there but bahamada's method is better.

I've just looked into the deb file (https://code.launchpad.net/~minetestdevs/+archive/stable/+build/2534621/+files/minetestc55_20110529-2~maverick1_amd64.deb).
Textures are located at /usr/share/minetest/. Is it right?

@Pyro_Phoneix: If you installed the deb version, then it should work with the method I mentioned above. Please look for typos etc...
@Cisoun: Yes right.
