Where can I find custom player skins?

The skin format is, at least for the default player model, compatible with Minecraft's, so you can just search the web for "Minecraft Skins". There are also several programs to edit skins easily, such as MCSkin3D.

There's a Minetest skin database here. Some servers even directly use it, letting players use the skins they uploaded (but also other players' skins).
