Common problems with mods
These are some problems that almost every major mod has:
-Items with few uses/very specific uses
Most mods have a bunch of items with only one or 2 uses. This is inconvenient, and makes crafting recipes more complicated. Useless blocks are OK, because they can be decoration, but useless items are just annoying.
-Unintuitive Crafting Recipes:
Crafting recipes should make sense and be easy to figure out. Unfortunately, this is not always the case, sometimes because the recipe is already "taken" by another popular mod.
-Not being able to make blocks out of ores.
I always end up with stacks and stacks of silicon and light crystals (moontest), because they are common, have few uses, and can't be crafted into blocks
-Textures that stand out too much.
This is mostly caused by high resolution textures, but there are other examples too.
-Similar items/blocks/features
A lot of older mods add things that are now in default, or in other mods. For example, on the Moontest server, there are 3 types of diamonds! default:diamond, diamonds:diamond, and birthstones:diamond. This takes up more spaces in chests and inventories, and can be confusing if the textures are also similar.
but textures with very high contrast can also stand out. surprisingly, slightly different shades of a color (especially grey) can stand out too.
