Howdy! As many of you know I am a Computer Science Teacher. My first part of the year I am teaching them design so I'm having them first design a house, and then design our school, and then a city.

So my questions are:

What mods would be good for making a house?

What mods would be good for making the school?

And what mods would be good for making a city?

Thanks so much for any insight! I already have some in mind but community insight is the best! Thanks and take care!

Well, that depends in your style.

There are many houses in many styles, some are done with wood others with quartz, another ones with ore blocks...
Actually the normal minetest_game offers a good quantity of blocks to do a good house (the minimum quanitity in my opinion)

But if you are dissatisfied with the default blocks...

You can try with Moreblocks, Dreambuilder is very good too!

I think, it might be nice to check out some of BU designs for building ideas?
http://www.bing.com/search?q=boston+university+building+designs&qs=n&form=QBLH&pq=boston+university+building+desig&sc=0-32&sp=-1&sk=&ghc=1&cvid=62D94283EA6F442CB673C3C5ADE2AD58

As for mods to use... I know there is a city mod (somewhere)
but I would suggest simply getting super creative and possibly have the students design their own mod?
Often when designing new buildings it is required to also design new styles of building materials.
Just an idea
I hope we all get to see the finished work? and maybe even updates on the project?
