Inventory Highlighting and Nickname functions

by Ruxow » Mon Jun 17, 2013 01:00

Hello again!

I have a few new ideas for possible features, so bear with me here.

Inventory Highlighting

Basics

What this does, specifically, is add a click-then-drag to highlight items in your inventory, like you would with files on your computer when you are going to move them from one folder to another.

After you highlight the items you want to place in your inventory/chest, you can click-and-drag on any of the selected items toward the chest/inventory and it would go immediately in your chest/inventory.

Double-clicking on the selected items, however, brings them immediately into your inventory/chest.

You can even use the ctrl/shift key in combo with the clicking to pick/deselect items you didn't want being moved/did want being moved.

To do a regular single item transfer, the drag-and-drop method remains unchanged. Doing this with other items selected, however, will bring them into the inventory/chest as well.

If your inventory/chest becomes full during transfer of items, the transfer, quite obviously, will not work.

Advanced, I guess

Say you want to select certain types of items into your inventory/chest and a certain number, without having to go through the task of manually deselecting items.

Click on one item stack (doesn't have to be full) to select, and there should be an added GUI to show you how many stacks of that item you have (either full stack or just a stack), along with the name of the item.

3 Items max can be selected or more, maybe a small tab to be added to expand, to be able to do this "filter" method.

There should be two buttons ( ^ and v ) to scroll on the GUI, for separate items.

Nicknames

I noticed in the 0.4.7 update that if you were to add a server to the Multiplayer registry, the server name comes up on the list listed as an IP number.

"Uh? Which server is that?", you might ask yourself. (I sure did, although that may be just on my end...)

Which is why I also want there to be an option to give a nickname to the servers on your multiplayer favorites server list, which would also spread over to the main multiplayer navigation as well.

(Or be able to give a nickname to everything on the startup menus and tabs... ha!)

Being able to give nicknames/messages to chests and/or other certain items would be nice as well.

Thanks for reading.
Dream more of becoming than of obtaining. ⛅

I like the idea of highlighting the items when they are hovered over.

Servers can set their name with the server_name or similar.
