Rightclick vs. Leftclick

Whether nodes are activated by right clicking or left clicking is very inconsistent between mods. For example, mesecon switches usually are activated by left clicking, but things like doors are opened by right click.
Personally, I like using right click, because it makes more sense, and you can break the node without activating it (for example, if you want to break a mesecon lever, you end up turning it on and off a few times)
However, sometimes when holding shift to place a node on something that is activated by right clicking (like a chest), the node that I place is facing the wrong way...
Also, in creative when I'm flying, I have to put blocks under me so I can hold shift without falling.

It makes sense to punch a button/switch to send a mesecon signal.
The doors change its selection box when they get opened, thus, it's better to use the right click to open doors.
Mesecon nodes don't change their selection box and it's no problem to dig those.
I vote for both mouse clicks.

I know as of default "E" used as the Fast key but why don't we have it can open doors and use other stuff as well.
Then I remember about most games well built in Source (E.g. Half-life GMod, Portal, other) use "E" open doors use buttons etc. But if someone was making an Half-life 1 or some other idea game be useful.
I am thinking real remake Portal or Half-life 1 or 2 before. But all the work might be later.
As of right now focus on The HarryPotterTest.
Also I think Right click would be useful since I don't always want mine the objects when active them.

Slgihtly off-topic, but I really think the mouse buttons should be remappable to keyboard keys.

yeah, and I wish in creative there was a pick block button, it's really annoying to have to look through the creative inventory. Also, I wish we could see the full name of items (modname:itemname) like you can with nodes in f5 mode. Sometimes I find "unknown items" and want to know what they used to be, or just want to know what mod an item is from.

I think the real solution would be to rework the input system.
Modders should not be forced to think about “leftclick” and “rightclick” at all, instead they should think of “use”, “punch”, “place”, etc.
Part of the problem also comes from the fact that players can't remap any of the mouse keys.
