Can we use model for the bones from this mod
https://github.com/Ferk/Dungeontest/tre ... mods/bones in minetest_game? They look much more pretty than the default one, imho.

This is much better indeed. However, they maybe need to be more noticeable (emit particles?).

Ever since I discovered this project I had been thinking about submitting a better bones model. My idea was for a smaller cube "skull" mostly sunken onto a larger "bones pile" cube so as to maintain the boxes theme.
But this one is much better! Time for a PR.

I would prefer to have the blood admitted from the base game, but maybe that's just me...

Why not use a headstone with a skull slightly poking out of the block below? Much easier to read, and is more universal...
If there is liquid or air (below the grave) - just place a dirt block below.

Just add a tiny chest to the bones. Logic hasn't been found anywhere near MT (or similar) game's inventory. We carry around thousands of neatly-folded cubic meters of dirt and cobble without any impact after all :-)

but what is, if a player dies on bones, then it looks like the upper bones are floating, with the new bones you cant get a nice bone stack

You guys can feel free to use and change the bones nodebox for whatever, no problem.
But good luck getting it accepted in vanilla Minetest, though. I think it needs improvement and as a replacement for the bones node it should try to be taller for the nodes to be able to make a pile properly.
I made those bones for Dungeontest since I needed them for decoration and because the bones block in vanilla Minetest looks terrible.
But I'm not really a modeller (I can't use blender even for simple things like this), it wasn't easy getting something that looked ok. It would be awesome if someone imported it into a proper obj 3d model instead of using a nodebox. It would be both more efficient and it could be improved since it could have a slope in the way the bones are placed, allowing for a taller pile of bones so it would look better when staked.
While I like it as a 3D pile of bones, it should match better the 1x1x1 dimensions if we wanted it to replace the current node.
I really like the skull, though. I took care trying to make sure it's more or less the appropriate size compared to the character.
