In response to what I am going to do on:
https://forum.minetest.net/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=14167, I am considering using an ARM v7 based Android tablet in order to host a Minetest server on it. That way, I can utilize an unused device while saving electricity bill costs. Unfortunately, the current Android GUI does not expose the ability to set up and run a server, although it could be possible for me to achieve launching a server after editing minetest.conf.
Is there a way I can achieve what I explained, or will I be limited to using x86 based computers to do any server stuff?

In really, the android Minetest game is a "client" isn't server at all, i don't know if there is anyway, in pc you can, but better check all the tutorials, after all android is based in Linux, is his son!
But making a server executable is more complicated and hard, better ask to Rubenwardy or someone that in really knows more about that part, i can say you how to do it in a computer, but in android, is harder.
And only to see if your tablet is fastest enough if there is a way to do it, you need to know what is the Android version, the internal storage space and The RAM capacity!

Well, depends of what device you uses, and that topic is old, Minetest is now more developed and polished, and well some performance upgrades are done since that time!
And well now the devices are a lot efficient and fast!
