Better playeranimations [idea]

What do you think about better playeranimations?

Like this:
look up - playeranimation with a head to the top
lock down - playeranimation with head to the bottom
sneak - playeranimation picked

This actually sounds a good idea, bringing the head movement into play but only using player animations instead of a separate head entity :)

Well it isn't only about code, i think that an 3d animation done in Blender is needed too...

Well the engine can't support it yet, although it is planned for some the future.

Then, how the mobs have animations? I checked out the models, and these have animations... Justly Wondering...

If I remember correctly the engine doesn't support animation blending. It will do animations fine. For example a walking animation, will show a mob or player walking. But "blending" a walking animation with another animation (think turning the head) isn't possible right now.

And if you try to justly use one animation? But i think that isn't actually possible...

For now, Iirlicht cannot handle animation blending on a single model, meaning animations can only play one at a time.

Nice idea... But i can't help, 'cause i know how to 3d-modeling not 3d-animating...
But if someone comes with a good animation for hit and walk i could give my support for it's adding...

If you're trying to use playeranim on 0.4.14 stable (not 0.4.14-dev!) then you probably ran into the same issues I had. I made some tweaks so that the newer playeranim will work with 0.4.14.

If you know some Lua scripting you can...

Or you can just download my custom fix from the bottom of this post. Honestly, I wish mods authors would just stop chasing a moving target and default to stable releases instead.
