Pretty much. But I sorta wanted to learn to use Blender to make the models as well. It help my resume if I know more than one program.

The Mimic mob.
Until I can makes for textures for teeth and mouth, this is pretty much what I have for creepy tricky mobs set. It should behave like a normal block (not chest) until it is clicked on (right or left) that's when it should spring up and bite.

Or make it spawn along with real chests containing possible valuables.

Are any of these close to being made into minetest mods? Because minetest really needs more 3d mobs, and I really want that nyan cat and some other ones. Right now there are no default mobs in minetest and only a few good 3d ones that you can download as mods.

Frankly, It will cool play a game of dungeons like Legend of Grimrock in minetest (Well... similar to WoW, but better a Old school D&D).

I was thinking about making some D&Dish monsters a while ago. I think I'd probably start from scratch though, as I don't see them working terribly well with mobf.

I made a few (a lot of?) mods for minetest: here is a list.
See also the MT-Faithful texture pack (work in progress).

This mob could be part of PilzAdam's simple_mobs mod or sapier's animals_modpack mod (or both.) It could appear exclusively in dungeons.

Hi! This is really cool! I can't wait until we get mobs in Minetest!
Also there was an exact same mob (the mimic one) in minecraft aether mod in dungeons.
Paulsoaresjr made a little series.
I love hunting ;)

WOW, cool mod. Is it possible to make some blocks that are actually monster?

ie. The blocks grow teeth and bite the client who comes near them. The Mob has a 5*5 radius, if the client goes into that area the block attacks.

ie2. The block transforms into a monster when a client comes into its radius. The radius could varie from around 5*5 to 10*10.

There is a lot more to making mobs than just the raw models. You need to be able to tell how to animate the model. I haven't looked at any of these models, but there is a lot more than just the shape.
