FOSS gamedev and creative worlds

Hi,
i played today minetest a while and i found some new Dungeons in the ground, so it would be interesting to find there some chest within some items ... like tools, torches or some other blocks ?!
Is this possible to add in the mapgenerator ...

Possible, but until MInetest's engine supports mandatory metadata, then no.
