it's a bit minecraftish to my mind, but l think the way i suggest it, it suits MT better. it's about sorting, yes, but! as the game itself doesn't have that lot of items, but there are plenty of mods, each with it's own items.
so, my suggestion is to implenent categorizing in creative, but it should be mod-oriented.
ps. i already said that i am no programmer, i can't do it myself, just wanted to share the idea.

Cool idea, maybe the main page is a list of buttons, one button for each mod. When you click it you see the items for that mod. Would be a lot easier to find things when you have 100 mods installed.
Also a search would be cool. I been thinking about how to do that.

yeah, i thought the same. not sure this can be implemented with just lua, though. categorizing, probably yeah, but search, i'm quite sure no.

It can be done, but the qustion is wether its useful or not. Maybe there can also be a slot, where you put a stack of 1 item and it turns to a stack of 99 items so you dont have to searche the items, that you already found, again.
