Have fun finding someone who would make this. Anyway, it's pretty pointless. -100

-Mods can easily be made with Lua.
-Maps can be made in minetest itself.
-Server is just one line in the commandline.
-Items is in mods.
-Models can be made with blender.
-Skins: http://www.kongregate.com/games/theswain/skincraft
-Codes? What codes do you mean?
-Mods can be easily made with Lua.

And blender and notepad and the commandline.

A: You build, it using the program made paint software, called Minetest Draw.

Or simply open notepad/gedit/emacs/vim/nano/joe/whatever and make a lua file!
And then you open gimp and draw the item.

Nice idea, but all this stuff can be made with free tools that are already aviable.
There is no need to add a lot of stuff to the code, only to get, what we can do with a
few external programs.

Your phone or window isn't wide enough to display the code box. If it's a phone, try rotating it to landscape mode.
Code: Select all
Minetest Development Kit, It a System you can, easy make mods, maps, servers, items, models, skins, codes, mods, etc.

Sounds great, but may I ask a single question? <- Nope, not this one ;)
What do you mean by "easy make"?
Or let me paraphrase: what could be done to make modding even more easier than it is now?
Let's discuss that matter. Do you have some ready-to-be-implemented ideas?
I'm asking, 'cause I failed to make up at least one.

i think that it should be for deciding paramtype is:
step 1:click the paramtype dropbox
step 2:click an option from the list
and so on and so on

-1 Like others have said above, there is already tools (free and paid) that let you very easily create textures, models etc and lua is simple enough for adding mods etc so what's the point? there is no need for a development kit.

I'd rather see development efforts put to use elsewhere.

This is an interesting idea, honestly, but Minetest is still far from a stable version number, so it would be too difficult to maintain an enduser-focused toolkit and the main program at the same time, keeping one from breaking the other. Once it hits the 1.0 mark, however, this wouldn't be a bad thing to create and support in the unofficial space, at least.

I was thinking if Minetest ever hits 3DS this would be a great idea to add, since you don't have all the apps.
