Adding apple tree's to default?

As a minetest server player. It is a struggle for me to find apples by planting a tree.I only have a 60% chance finding apple on tree's.
So what if we add apple tree's on minetest.
If there is a apple tree then there should be apple tree saplings
This is a good idea since:
-This is not yet on minecraft
-This is a good thing for apple lovers like me
-This specify tree's more

Also, in real life, saplings don't grow into random types of trees.
You could get apple tree seeds when you eat an apple, instead of getting saplings from leaves.

yeah I check that mod and it's pretty sweet
EDIT:
It have alot of dependencies.Maybe we just need to edit the mod and just add the apple tree :D.

No, he means making them a separate tree. Like with apple tree saplings, leaves and such

Seems unnecessary to me. Realism should never be a major factor in game design (lots of things are rightfully unrealistic in games), and the apples just growing on randomly selected trees works just fine.
In any case, adding specialized apple trees wouldn't hurt anything if someone wants to do it.

Weird, I have the feeling that once we'll have this it will be implemented in minecraft too...
Joking (or not, see it as you want).
Seriously, this would be great to have this implemented in main game, also we currently only have one tree type...
What about pines from snow mod, when we'll have snow biomes?

If I want this on default should I?:
-Make a mod and just send it to Pilzadam
-Or just copy the code from moretree's

I can't speak for making it part of default, but if you just wanna use it locally, install plants_lib and moretrees, and configure moretrees to only create apple trees (e.g. set all of the other tree generating options to 'false').

Modify the default mod to have this functionality - you can make your own code or copy from moretrees, I don't know which would be better, make a patch (you should use git), and send it to the core devs (pull request is the common way to do it).
Also, I'll correct myself - we already have 2 types of trees in default, but the jungles aren't enabled by default.

Jungles should be enabled by default, they look so cool.
EDIT: I think apples should use nodeboxes, instead of being drawtype = plantlike, but the textures might be hard to make

Personally, I think there should be hundreds of different types of trees that can interbreed and create new species, but thas just me.

+1. The modder who pulls this off will have my eternal gratitude- and they can have a drink on me.
