Hello!
I already saw the possibility of uploading maps etc to the forum... and now I want to know If and when it is possible to upload own minetest skins to the forum as a profile picture or seperate in any kind of folder?
That would create a better feeling while online playing with friends!
Is it difficult or are there other problems?

Mods can easily be used to switch player skins on a server ( https://forum.minetest.net/viewtopic.php?id=4147 ) although it would be better if you could set one skin on your own Minetest game and when connecting to your server of choice it loads YOUR skin into the game for you to use and others to see...

I'm afraid that's currently not possible. Media content has to be downloaded at the beginning of the connection - later updates are not possible. Thus, a player connecting while others are already playing could not be seen with his selected skin. Servers even have to be restarted in order to integrate new skins.

Shame... maybe a thought for built-in skinning in the future, player handshake with room for a small png skin ...

The trouble would be to propagate the new skin to the players who are already connected. An option to send additional media data later on would indeed be nice.
