GUI for nodegen (whimsical idea)

by Novacain » Wed Feb 12, 2014 20:50

So, I was just thinking that you could have a gui for writing code for nodes without the gruntwork. just thought I would throw this idea out there for those to daydream about it.

my thought on how it could work would be something like click "register node" and then it has a few boxes to fill out such as "mod" "node name" "inventory name" and then a whole slew of boxes where you can enable, then enter a value.

just thought I would put it out there :P

It is definitely do-able. I would enjoy it as well.

no doubt it is doable. question is: is there anyone who would actually make such a thing?

I will, and I have already started. It is in HTML Format. All I have to do is plug in the Javascript for it.(Which could take a little while...)

Edit: Take a look. download847.mediafire.com/ojppv50y51ng/3f7fkuz2d2dkcg5/Modding+Website.zip

Updated. Drawtypes are included as radio buttons.

Ah, nice.

Remember that the minetest community resist enabling their JavaScript. :P

I think it shouldn't matter online. Those who don't wish to are most likely just fine writing mods on their own.

Who in the forum here knows php? I know limited amounts, and I cannot get what I'm trying to do to work at all.

Edit: I don't believe I will use Javascript at all...

I know php. However, minetest.net supports python.

Java in the browser sucks. Flash sucks.

What are you using?

Doesn't appear to work, @philipbenr.

The text box just contains the selected name of the draw type.

It wasn't finished. I'm giving it to the person who would like to try and maybe finish it. That is why it is 0.7
