Jump height

Coming from someone who became very used to the Minecraft controls, it feels like the jump mechanics are a little too sensitive.

As soon as you advance one level, you are able to jump again (by level I mean layer of terrain), and the jump height is almost identical to the block height. This allows for quick stair-climbing, but it doesn't feel "natural" without the slight delay. In a realistic sense, no one takes 1-meter steps without a pause between them.

Obviously, everyone has noticed this, but perhaps no one has complained. Am I being picky, or does this bother others as well?

Check out the physics settings for MiniTest. You can change these values in your minetest.conf file and see if it feels more minecrafty. You can also just play around with these values yourself and see if you can find a physics setup you like.

Yes, and this is the effect in MT.
